Redesigned from the ground up, S5 introduces massive a 48 mm burr set, adding just a few millimeters to the body width. It's our most capable S-series grinder to date.

Our new pre-breaker uses a 12-point design for improved throughput and efficiency. Straight-edge blades are staggered with TIMEMORE’s signature S2C serrated blades, breaking coffee into larger, more uniform fragments.

Taking its cues from an aperture adjustment ring, S5 introduces a new grind adjustment dial that resists accidental bumps or changes. With 90 steps per rotation and 15 microns per click, S5 offers all the settings you need in a single rotation.

S5 uses custom bearings machined to a 5-micron tolerance, keeping the burr set concentric under load. The alignment is precise enough to grind at the zero setting without the burrs touching, keeping play to a minimum.

A new, larger crank knob fills the palm and gives greater leverage with every rotation. Diagonal ridges along the body improve grip, while a new flared opening makes it easier to pour beans directly into the grinder. We even made the catch cup a little larger for when your brew calls for it.

TriB-048-I advances TIMEMORE’s Spike to Cut geometry, combining compression, shearing, and piercing to break beans apart before they reach the main cutting surface. The slow-feeding effect reduces resistance for a lighter crank, tighter particle distribution, fewer fines, and more consistent results.

12 Point Burr Geometry

A 12-point design alternates larger seating teeth with smaller piercing teeth. Beans drop cleanly into place and get pierced on entry, minimizing the bean-on-bean collisions that produce uncontrolled fines.

TriB-048-I's piercing edge tightens the peak of the particle distribution and dramatically reduces the coarse particles above 1300um - the boulders that produce underextracted, uneven cups.

Lens-Inspired Grind Adjustment

Inspired by the aperture ring, S5 Pro's external adjustment dial introduces a firmer, crisper feel. Each click is distinct, and the dial resists accidental changes during grinding.

75 Micron Burr Gap

Incredible precision allows you to grind at the zero setting without burr rub.

Reminder:

At the zero setting, the burrs are at the critical point where they nearly meet - with a controlled gap of approximately 0.075mm. During normal vertical rotation, there's no burr contact. Because the gap is so tight, some slight friction or chirping is normal when the burrs come under significant eccentric pressure.
